Review : Sound card for desk top pc.
This is certainly an improvement from the on board motherboard sound. However you can't expect what I deem to be Hi-Fi and also your amplifier and speakers are also an important link in the chain. I'm very pleased with it as I did not want to spend a fortune but needed a significant up grade. I needed a PCI card as the pc is several years old (running XP) and I choose Asus as I had had insurmountable problems with the equivalent Creative cards (the software would not recognise the card and therefore would not install). I had no problems with Asus and everything worked first time.
