Review : oodles of features to explore
This is by far the most versatile motherboard I have ever had and configurable to the nth degree via jumpers and the usual software.Having only installed it this evening,I have barely begun scratching the surface of this boards capabilities and that's how I like it.
Popped in an AMD FX8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor and it worked right out of the box,no BIOS upgrade necessary (for anyone who read the Rev 1 review regarding this).Being able to use the mouse in BIOS will take some getting used to! I like the Geekiness of a sparse GUI,but why shouldn't "normal" people have some fun too.
I am very pleased with this purchase so far,although having installed the Cooler Master Hyper 212 CPU cooler,I was getting the somewhat irritating (and bogus) "CPU Fan Error" message 'til I tweaked the BIOS settings.
I really hope ASUS manages to overcome what could be seen as an inherent flaw in ASUS mobos.Maybe other boards throw the same error,but I haven't personally seen it.I have...
