Review : Overclocks like a dream
Personally I think current 6-core processors are the best value for your money now, so that's why I selected this CPU. It does not cost much more than 4-core version, but has more "punch" yet it is perfectly adequate for most CPU-intensive tasks. In fact my clocks rarely go above 5-10% and even video encoding pushes it up to 50-60% with plenty of spare power left.
I was not even planning to overclock it, just selected "performance" option on my ASUS Sabretooth motherboard, and then was surprised to see it went from 3.80 to 4.40Ghz without breaking a sweat, and still under 30C! System was perfectly stable of course. I am sure one can go much higher that that, but that will do for me just fine.
A word about stock cooler as well, despite what people generally think ("bin it!") it is totally usable and quiet too! Maybe not for top overclocking, but will do the job for regular builds.
