My old inkjet had finally given up after 3 years, so I decided to bite the bullet and buy this Wireless Samsung printer.

When it arrived, it was really easy to set up (I had to use a Windows computer to set it up) and within the hour I was printing wirelessly from all of our computers. We have a mixture of computers, ranging from Mountain Lion to Snow Leopard and Windows XP to Windows 7 and all work flawlessly (unlike another review has mentioned).

The prints are very clear and crisp, and I can't believe how fast it is compared to my old Cannon Inkjet at printing black and white! Colour is quite a bit slower, but not painfully slow.

First off did not get this on Amazon as with conversion of GBP was able to get it at a better price on dabs but wanted to post here and give my support for the MX895 as its a damm good printer.

It's my first canon, I've had hp (it was ok) and dell (it was crap - as ink was a rip off) but this on the other had is great, prints at a good speed and quality its very good, i have not print an image on to photo paper but was happy with it on normal office paper.

It's easy to set up, the one I got had no USB and from the Description page here on Amazon this one dose not as well, You don't need the USB if you have wifi in the house, as the printer will connect to that and after you install the canon software on each pc, laptop etc you can print from anything. I will point out don't worry if your pc is not on wifi, as once the printer connects to your wifi router it will then also work though your internet cable from router to pc etc.

I've fought for years with HP. When they work, the print quality is fine. But, I've now had three printers that have gone wrong and NOT due to age or misuse! The latest one (a Photosmart all-in-one) had printed a total of 797 pages and it's completely unreliable. Enough!

I was looking for a printer to replace that HP one, so an all-in-one, but one with an auto document feed and one that could print photos without having to change all the paper around.

This Canon one has it. The photos can just lie in the rear tray and will be used when they're needed. Normal paper goes in the drawer at the bottom of the printer.

The set-up was trivial. I didn't connect it to a PC by USB and didn't install ANY software on my PC during the set-up. Compare that to HP! HP is a massive bloatware of software that is just really poor. Even the driver set for HP runs at about 220MB!

With the Canon, I unpacked it, plugged it in, inserted the inks, ran the head...

Review : Good printer but Blimey! The cost of toner cartridges!
I've had this sat on my desk for a couple of weeks now and am jolly happy with it. It works much as a laser printer should. Paper goes in a tray at the base (it takes about 150 sheets, up to A4, along with label sheets and photo paper) and pops out a slot at the top.

Beware! When you take the printer out of the box, the paper tray is neatly tucked away leaving the printer with a nice cubical profile as per the product's photos. BUT! when you pull the tray out to load it with paper you will find that it doesn't go all the way back in - it sticks out by a few inches rather spoiling the look if the thing and crucially taking up more space. This is normal and don't try to force the tray all the way back in as I did - you could break it.

The whole thing connects to your PC via the usual USB link: your PC will take some time to download the necessary drivers but initial setup is quick and easy. Wireless printing is possible, but I must admit that I haven't explored...

The printer arrived in good time. It was quite easy to set up once I'd plugged it in to my router. It communicated OK with my HP lap top so I can print wirelessly. I've scanned and copied on it without problems. I've had a couple of paper jams whilst printing so I'm keeping an eye on that. The 2 sided printing is a good feature. It's quite noisey when it's turned on but it is very efficient when printing. Overall I'm pleased with it, it's only the 2 paper jams that has tainted my score.

This printer replaced my HP 7280 all in one. The Epson 730 is used mainly at home for scanning, printing homework, occasional colour document printing and photo-copying b&w docs in the home. (I mainly use a laserjet for B&W printing). I spent about a week looking at HP, Epson, Cannon and Brother in the 100-150 pound price bracket. Decided on this printer because it offered the best specified print heads at the price plus it had airprint and a print email server. This purchase was a compromise between performance, cost and features. I couldn't find anything that offered all the features I really wanted for less than 250 pounds and I wasn't prepared to pay that much for an inkjet. I am technically competent and work in tech industry.

The good:
-Good overall design and the touchpad interface particularly works well and is surprisingly intuitive
-Airpint and email print sever, works flawlessly and is very easy to set up

I bought the printer to support my work with a local credit union. It usually gets used for everyday printing, plus an annual mail shot which requires printing 1500 - 2000 pages of statement and covering letters.

Pros: Really fast compared to my old Officejet R45 which has given me great service but is no longer fully supported under Windows 7. And the duplexor is fabulously labour and time saving. Ink supplies are very cost effective, give an extremely low cost per page using the XL cartridges.

Cons: The biggest problem is the lack of a manual feed slot for printing odd-sized documents like envelopes. I have to use an old HP 959c for that purpose. Also, I had some driver problems, probably my fault, which caused problems when using the duplexer with part of the page being missed off. I got some great support from HP Customer Service who advised reinstalling the drivers from scratch - this has cured the problem for the last couple of days, let's hope it's a...

I have only had this all in one printer a short while but after a bad experience with a different manufacturer of an all in one printer, this Epson has covered itself with Glory. This printer uses Epson Claria inks and the quality is excellent, I was a little bit dubious about feeding 6x4inch Epson Ultra Glossy photo paper as it is quite thick, 300gsm but up to date I have had no feeding problems and all print quality is wonderful. I have printed from photos on a memory stick without computer and it allows cropping and manipulation of exposure or brightness with good results. Scanning is good and easy to use as is the copier function. This printer was easy to install on my PC but took quite a while and needed to borrow a USB cable to temporary connect with printer before it could see it, but all was well in the end. Much easier and FASTER to connect to my iMac. I think I still have much to learn and sure this Epson all in one printer is capable of much more than I have even tried to...

We have used HP officejet printers for years because they do double-sided copying scanning and printing and no other manufactuer seemed to.
This one doesn't! It says it does full duplex but it will only work if you print a document from the computer. It won't do duplex as a standalone unit.
A backward step. HP were really unhelpful: they told us first that it could do it but we had to get the details from the internet, then they admitted that this model could not.

Note: if you want a printer that can photocopy from a two sided document and can scan from a two-sided document then go for HP 8500A PLUS - the 'plus' bit is important. We have now got one of these and it is doing everything that we want.

When looking at the spec watch out for 'two sided printing' vs 'two-sided printing and copying'.

I bought this printer to replace a perfectly good Canon as I needed the wireless element for the inevitable iPad. This printer was cheap and well reviewed.

Bad bits:

I would have given it 5 stars but the setup bombed the first time and I notice other users have experienced a bit of trouble loading the software. Also, manual is not fantastic IMHO. I get a few icons on the tray at the bottom of the Windows 7 page that are not necessary (one would do).

Good bits:

Once the disc loaded okay, the drivers for the desktop printer loaded fine. After a bit of confusion (manual really not great - you realise that you have to load the wireless bit independently) I got the thing to load up and my iPad saw the printer immediately. I shall get used to it but I was in something of a techno daze when I printed out a PDF from the iPad for the first time. As an old f*rt who remembers having to configure dot matrix printers for Lotus 123, this was nothing...

My previous printer was one of the more expensive models in this range however it's printhead got blocked (due to disuse I suspect) and it was less expesive to buy a new printer than repair it.

Having had this for a week now it's definitely a bit more clunky and noisy but it does the job producing good prints and was easy to install wirelessly on two PCs. Size wise it is slightly smaller than the older models but as it lacks the rear feed the flap at the front needs to be open if you want to leave paper in it and so essentially takes up around the same amount of space from front to back.

The control panel is fine although why Canon need 3 buttons below the screen and the 4 way buttons escapes me but as you can do pretty much everything through the software it's a minor issue.

I don't normally write reviews...however, I spent a lot of time reading other reviews of wireless all in one printers that also supported Apple Airprint and I just couldn't see one which seemed to do what it was supposed to do.

So, I picked the Epsom on the basis that it looked the best but was still rather apprehensive as at least one review said they couldn't get the air print to work

So, all arrived very quickly and for a change decided to actually read the manual rather than just plugging it in to see what would happen. When I say manual, what I mean is literally 4 steps which included the plugging in step. At the end of those 4 steps, my Windows 7 PC was wireless printing, my ipad and iphone were wirelessly printing and the "print anywhere via email" was also working.

So , I have to give this the very best review I can as it simply does everything it is supposed to and without a problem !!!

Really impressed with the HP printer it was a pleasure to set up and as another reviewer has said already all you need is the quick start guide to get you on your way.
with in minutes i had the printer unpacked and ink cartridges installed and printing via easy setup wifi network and then via the andorid app on my samsung galaxy ace, all the steps through the setup are nicely prompted on the printer screen and for first setup you will need to use the USB lead and also remember to have your router wireless network key ready (trust me saves time took me longer to find my key than all the rest of the setup process lol )
print quality and speed is excellent i would highly recommend this printer to anyone.
handy tip.
when installing the software remember to un tick those unwanted additional software boxes that clutter up our PC's which on this software disc included the useless bing tool bar browser add on

This is a great printer and seems to tick all the boxes:

Must admit that I was a little concerned about the other reviews on this printer but decided to give it a go anyway, after all it can be returned if its not up to scratch.

Found set up very easy and had set up a desktop, laptop, android tablet, 2 android smart phones and an iPhone to work within an hour including the time it took to unpack the box! However a week later after having to change the hard drive in the laptop and reinstall I did have an issue, after much head scratching it turned out that having the laptop in an economy mode had turned off some service that was required by the installation software. After turning off the energy economy mode installation was done in minutes with no issues whatsoever, so if you are having installation issues it could be an idea to check your power options, I wasn't even aware that this mode made any changes to services running nor does it state that it does in any of Microsoft's info!
