Just upgraded to Windows7, so had to buy new scanner. I chose the Cannon LIde 110 and its brillian. Fast, clean and with a lot more options for example PDF and E-mail at the touch of a button. I would however warn those thinking of buying the Belkin PRO Series Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Device Cable - USB c... by Belkin .......it doesn't need to be bought for this scanner as it doesn't fit. Why people buy it after viewing the scanner is a mystery to me!

The Scanner was perfect for me to scan all my 35mm slides taken in 1972/73 for a veterans reunion. It is surpassed all my expectations as these slides are nearly forty years old. I was surprised at the quality of many of them. I can recommend this device to those who wish to digitize their 35mm slides another good product from Kodak. I cleaned my slides with a puffer and a soft lens brush to remove any dust.

Bought to replace a Lide 50 for Windows 7, things have moved on quite a notch in the last few years.

The nice and simple set-up takes only a few minutes and the software is so much simpler to use, which is a good thing.

I've stopped using the standard 6x4 settings, as they seem to leave a border on two sides, but if you set it for Auto Detect, then there's no problem. It also scans 4 at a time without chopping the bottom one, which my 50 did.

I haven't found a preview button, which would allow the scan area to be cropped, which I always find useful, but it's not the end of the world.

Speed is definitely improved, although this is a level above the old 50 anyway in terms of performance.

I haven't bothered with any manipulation software (I'm not even sure if any was included), as I always use Photo Elements for a half decent job and only want the scanner to scan old prints, which it does perfectly well.

Review : Works very well, and great product for the price
After reading several reviews for the Veho VFS-002 I was in two minds whether to purchase this product or not. I am very happy to say I am pleased I did purchase it.I agree with R1ster that the slide cases are delicate, but why would you want to manhandle then? The design works perfectly well. As for photo quality, well I haven't had any problems. I can only guess Veho have updated the software. The Arcsoft program (included) has several levels of picture quality adjustment. I instantly used the highest quality which produces around 3.5MB photo from the negative. I have not had any requests for additional payments to use the software application. I have only given this four stars due to the delicate slide cases, but to be honest I can't see how they could improve them. This product is great for the price.

I decided to pay a little more for a better scanner and very pleased I did.
Its so simple to use, you hardly need to read the instructions. I have since scanned over 100 slides and negatives on to the smart card and transferred that to my PC.
The pictures scanned better than expected and in relation to cost of having a developer carrying out this task, the scanner has already paid for itself.
So if you have untold negatives and slides to copy, it would certainly be worth both the purchase, time and effort to carry this out.

Got these cartridges at a good price (compared to other suppliers of the same product) with speedy delivery. Canon quality and performance as expected, it's just the size of the cartridges is so tiny you have to buy them too often! Why on a printer the size of the MG8150 you have a set of miniature cartridges is beyond me, apart from the obvious cynical conclusion. The printer itself is capable of stunning results, especially on good photo paper, come on Canon, make it cost effective to use it and give us more ink!

I put the magenta one in two days ago and I've been printing out images for my portfolio. The magenta has now run out! My advice would be to go for the apple version - double the printing for your money. I won't be buying the fox one again.

Review : There's no substitute for the real thing!
It's agreed that what constitutes a good print is a very subjective matter, so I have to accept that those folk who make claim to getting brilliant inkjet photographic prints from compatible and re-manufactured cartridges are genuinely satisfied with the product.
But having tried a lot of them myself, and suffered smudging, poor drying, clogged nozzles - not to mention unrealistic colours; I have come to the conclusion that the old adage "You only get what you pay for" does apply here.
Sure, they are more expensive than the non-originals, but the outcome of this is that some really good printers are out there at half the cost you might have expected ten years ago because the manufacturers claw some of their development costs back via the consumables.
But if you want the best results, with consistently trouble-free printing, your best bet is always with the real thing!

When Hp sell you a new printer they only give you starter cartridges with it which hold a very small amount of ink in them Hp 350 black and the Hp 351 colour cartridges. I was using about 3 black and 2 colours cartridge per month and it was costing me a small forturne. I later found out that Hp do a higher yield versions of the 350 and 351 cartridges which cost only a few pounds more but hold far more ink in them than the starter cartridges which I was using before. What you need is a HP 350XL on the black which hold 20mls of ink rather than the 4.5mls of ink that is in the 350 starter cartridge and on the colour what you should be using is a HP 351XL which holds 13mls rather than the 3.5mls which is in the 351 colour starter cartridge. I can even go one better, I now use a company called advantage online who stock the Hp originals plus do a British premium compatible 350XL and 351XL cartridges which hold a impressive 34mls black and 21mls colour. I have used them a couple of times so...

So the sample cartridges that came with my HP Deskjet 3050 All-in-One Printer lasted all of five minutes, so I thought I'd go for the "High Yield" XL cartridges. While swapping them over I noticed that both the standard and XL cartridges are exactly the same size and shape (why wouldn't they be, they have to fit the same space?).

This got me on to thinking, I wonder how many "standard" cartridges HP would sell if they labelled them as what they are: 40% full (based on an XL cartridge giving 2.5x more use). Furthermore, it's a shocking waste of resources for HP to manufacture and ship their less-than-half-full standard cartridges in the name of consumer choice.

In short, don't ever buy the rip-off standard cartridges, buy the XL and force HP into discontinuing the 60% air version. Thankfully, at Amazon prices, the XL...
